My Coaching Behavior Lab, The Head Coach For Women s Golf

For this Coaching Behavior Lab, the women’s golf coach was observed during a pre-tournament practice. Jan Mann, the head coach for women’s golf since 2009, provided multiple feedback statements that were communicated with student athletes while practicing on Finley Golf Course. She was observed for a 60-minute period, covering nine holes on the course. Only those participating in the tournament were present for feedback from Coach Mann. Athletes practiced techniques that would be used during the upcoming tournament. These included both physical and mental capacities that coincided with one of Coach Mann’s statements: golf is very much a mental game. She was very hands-on, providing feedback in a more personal manner Out of the 36 behaviors, 8 of them were directed towards a player’s desirable performance. Praise plus instruction made up a majority of these behaviors at 62.5% and the remaining percentage was split evenly with praise only, instruction only, and no reinforcement. This distribution of behavior has a high likelihood of being effective in terms of teaching behavior. The coach provided the athletes with some form of reinforcement the majority of the time, only failing to do so once. The coach either responded to the outcome with praise, instruction, or a combination of both. However, the praise was never excessive or delivered in a way that could negatively affect the arousal level of the athlete. Growing up, as more and more of my peers developed their specific interests and even revealed desired career choices, I only felt lost in terms of what I wished to purse. I found that I was easily overwhelmed if I allowed myself to read too deeply into the dreaded â€Å"what am I going to do with my life† question. I have come to realize that it is much less anxiety provoking, however, if I view this matter on a smaller scale. After all, I do have aspirations and goals that I strive to achieve on a short-term basis. If there are 2 students with A1 Grade, and one has Grade A1 in attitude towards teachers,discepline etc and other one has Grade B1 in the same, the boy with the A1 grade will be selected for sure! My aim to say this is that Grading System has surely Influented the System of education, It has made it much more smarter. This is the first full session for Class X with fully implemented Grading System and for sure this year will create a milestone!
